Did a survey yesterday on a 1940 Hinkley 31 sloop.  Just finishing a total restoration.  It was a museum piece.  It even had all the original bronze hardware (all polished and restored) no stainless on it.  Spruce mast and boom perfectly varnished.  It had the original copper (!) fuel and water tanks (all cleaned and re soldered).  They did an epoxy saturation of all the planking and laid two thin layers of cold molded western red cedar (epoxy saturated) and blue Awlgrip.  Fantastic!

73 - Jay
