I was in the edge of one like that in 1966. My ship was pretty large, but waves broke over the entire ship! It was about 60' to the top of the top deck. It was designed for 45 degree rolls and we took 47 degree rolls. I took off my shoes and "surfed" in my socks across the polished deck floor tile in our living area. Sitting at my desk and typing up radio messages was very difficult, as I had to lock my knees under the desk to keep from being thrown across the room. For a while, we tied on hatch open, before the waves got too high (40' or so above the water line) and seeing just water, just sky, just water, just sky, started to get to ME, even. Sleeping and living were miserable under these conditions. Everyone who was susceptible and many who weren't became seasick. The head was abominable. Eating involved lifting first one side of your tray, then the other to keep food from rolling out onto the deck. I had to sleep on my stomach, with my arms and legs out at angles to avoid being thrown across the room. Going outside was unthinkable. It finally was over. I can't imagine being near the middle. Neat graphic. How'd you find it? Rick
